Adele Wolpert has been in practice for over 35 years and is experienced in treating a broad range of mental health issues and interpersonal difficulties. She has had extensive training and experience in both long and short-term models of psychodynamic psychotherapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, dialectical behaviour therapy as well as emotion focused couple therapy. In addition to private practice, Adele worked as a mental health counsellor for the Hamilton Family Health Team for 27 years.

Adele is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University. She was the Coordinator in the Postgraduate Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Program and in the Clinical Behavioural Sciences Program for 25 years. This included program development, teaching, training and supervising residents, students and other mental health professionals. She also worked as a long term facilitator in Professional Competencies at the DeGroote School of Medicine, McMaster University for 17 years.

Adele received her B.S.W. (Honours) at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa and completed her M.S.W. degree at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario in 1981. Adele is licensed as a Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and is a member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Social Workers. She received a 2014 Dedication to Education Award from the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences, McMaster University.
